I made this graphic with all of the basic skincare products you should use. Now let’s go over my favorite products from each category! As someone with oily/combination skin, these are the products that have worked best for me.

The Ordinary Serum, Cleanser, and Toner
This starter kit by The Ordinary is great because it comes with a toner, cleanser, and two serums. I use the cleanser every day, the Ethylated Asrobic serum in the morning, and the Caffeine Solution at night. It’s pretty pricey at about $10 per product, but so worth it! The ethylated Asrobic serum has made my face less red and irritated, and the toner has helped me exfoliate my skin. Total: about $41
Cetaphil Moisturizer
Daily Hydrating Lotion for Face with Hyaluronic Acid
I use this moisturizer from Cetaphil at night. It’s pretty thin and easy to spread. I love how it doesn’t leave an oily finish! Total: about $15
Up & Up Sunscreen
Morning Facial Moisturizing Lotion with Sunscreen SPF 30Â
I use this sunscreen moisturizer from Target and it’s perfect under makeup or by itself. It has lasted me a long time! I only use it in the morning. Total: about $12.50
Differin Spot Treatment
This acne medication is pricey but 100% worth it. I can wear it during the day or at night because the gel is clear. It doesn’t try out my skin like other acne spot treatments. Total: about $17Â
The total cost for these products came out to around $85 before tax. While pricey, these products should last for months! Not all of these products will work for everyone, but they have worked for me with combination skin.
